Helmi Remes (b. 1983 Tampere) is a versatile glass artist whose work includes public art installations, unique glass artworks, and glass design. The Shimmer of Polar Darkness  and November belong to a series in which blown glass is combined with filigree technique and grinding.

The Shimmer of Polar Darkness evokes thoughts of the blue moments of a winter day and frost-covered branches. November has a simple, earthy colour palette consisting of pale green, yellow-brown, and white.
