Elina Merenmies - The Voice of Darkness

With subtle gestures, Elina Merenmies (b. 1967, Espoo) creates images of dark, fairytale-like worlds. There is a strong atmosphere in the way she portrays people. Her works are sad, but at the same time both strange and beautiful. Her line can be loose and simple, or careful and detailed. Merenmies creates a mystical forest where one can get lost in the shadows. “I am on an expedition in the whole world.”
