Robert Lucander - Blick nach links oben

Robert Lucander (b. 1962, Helsinki) lives and works in Berlin. His works move between the recognizable and the mysterious, exploring color, material, and the relationship between painting and object. Lucander often uses industrial paint on wood, creating a tension between control and unpredictability, combining established conventions with experimental expression. He studied at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin from 1989 to 1995, and since 2010 has been a professor of painting at the Universität der Künste in Berlin; he also teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts.
