Built in 1936 for the Helsinki Olympics that never came, Lasipalatsi is one of the most recognisable buildings in Finland — a UNESCO-heritage modernist landmark that has served as cinema, café, radio station, and cultural gathering point for nearly ninety years. At ODDfest, BioRex runs film premieres and major talks inside while the square outside becomes an open-air stage on Saturday afternoon and evening.

The cinema and terrace inside Lasipalatsikortteli run a dense parallel program.

Program

Friday: talks on vertical drama, the Nordwave documentary, AI vs Human in audio branding, and an all-star AI panel on creative identity. Then the Finnish premiere of Bar25: Days Out Of Time — the documentary about Berlin's legendary Bar25 — followed by a live Q&A with the filmmakers from 25films. VIRTA closes with progressive rock and live visuals by Aavistus Festival.

Saturday: Assembly (US) — art, AI, and queer Black identity as collective power — Meow Wolf (US) presenting on immersive world-building, Connection Interrupted's electronic cyborg live show, and Kaukolampi with VJ Indigo closing.

The BioRex Terrace runs a full DJ program both days. Friday ends with Chicken Foot Soup — Goya Gumbani and Dom P from NTS Radio London, streaming live to the NTS audience. Saturday runs deep: MJØ, NAAVA, Matti Nives (We Jazz, vinyl only), Jaako_TDJ, and Akistoteles.
