Dormition of Virgin Mary (Festal Icon)

The Uspenski Cathedral was consecrated to the Dormition of Mother of God and the Old Church Slavonic word for this event is “uspenie”. The icon is covered by a thin silver cover called “riza”. The riza was finished in 1885.
