Tuomas Korkalo is a visual artist and curator based in Rovaniemi. Korkalo is an accomplished muralist, but his practice also spans drawing, painting, installations, and environmental art. In his work, he explores the properties of color and light in space, as well as the mathematical principles of visual art theory. The starting point for his most recent works can be found in Russian avant-garde paintings and sculptures, as in the piece Composition 130920. The latter part of the title refers to the date of the work’s completion on September 13th 2020.
