Accessibility Statement

Reveel Technologies Oy is committed to improving the accessibility of the Reveel visitor web app and to working towards the accessibility requirements set out in the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019).

This statement applies to the visitor-facing Reveel web app, including public guide, place, article, map, ticket, checkout, embedded ticket, media, and content layout pages. It does not cover Reveel Studio, internal operator tools, or third-party services that may be linked to or embedded from the app.

Most content in the service is created and managed by Reveel customers. Reveel provides publishing and presentation tools; customers are responsible for ensuring that their own text, images, audio, video, links, documents, translations, colours, and other material are accessible.

Compliance Status

The Reveel visitor web app is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA due to the product limitations listed below.

Reveel continues to improve semantic structure, keyboard operation, accessible labels, focus management, and support for assistive technologies.

Non-Accessible Content And Known Limitations

The following points describe known limitations in Reveel-provided product features. They do not cover every possible accessibility issue in customer-managed content.

Interactive Maps And 360 Images

Mapbox-based maps and the 360 image viewer are highly visual interfaces. Map marker selection and panorama movement rely substantially on pointer interaction and spatial presentation. They may not be fully operable with only a keyboard or fully understandable with a screen reader. Some map, marker, error, and panorama information may also be generic or provided by third-party components.

When map information is essential, Reveel aims to provide the same essential information elsewhere as text, such as place names, addresses, categories, and content details.

These limitations may affect WCAG 2.1 success criteria 1.1.1 (Non-text Content), 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships), 2.1.1 (Keyboard), and 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value).

Audio And Video Alternatives

The current players provide keyboard-operable and labelled playback controls, and the media system can represent multiple audio and text tracks. Reveel does not currently require or verify captions, subtitles, transcripts, or audio description for every uploaded audio or video item. The availability and presentation of these alternatives therefore depend on the media, tracks, and metadata supplied for each guide or commerce page.

This may affect WCAG 2.1 success criteria 1.2.1 (Audio-only and Video-only, Prerecorded), 1.2.2 (Captions, Prerecorded), 1.2.3 (Audio Description or Media Alternative, Prerecorded), and 1.2.5 (Audio Description, Prerecorded).

Visual Contrast

The app uses shared themes, visible focus styles, and design tokens. However, contrast may not meet the required minimum in every combination of customer-configured colours, customer-provided imagery, QR designs, map marker assets, embedded widgets, and light or dark themes.

This may affect WCAG 2.1 success criteria 1.4.3 (Contrast Minimum) and 1.4.11 (Non-text Contrast).

Third-Party Services

The Reveel platform may link to, embed, or display third-party services such as external websites, documents, videos, maps, payment services, and embedded media. Reveel cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party services, but we aim to avoid using them in ways that block access to essential Reveel content or purchase flows.

Preparation Of This Statement

This statement was first prepared on 30 August 2024.

This version was reviewed and updated on 24 June 2026 based on an internal review of the current Reveel visitor web app codebase and known product behaviour. The review covered page structure, image galleries, content navigation, maps, media players, commerce and checkout interfaces, dialogs, feedback controls, localization, and dynamic states. It was a code-level review and not a complete manual audit with every supported browser and assistive-technology combination or a third-party accessibility certification.

Reveel Technologies Oy is categorized as a microenterprise. The requirements introduced for certain consumer digital services from 28 June 2025 do not apply to microenterprises on that basis. Reveel nevertheless assesses the visitor web app against WCAG 2.1 Level AA and continues to improve accessibility across the product.
