Description

Collision Table brings people together around a shared meal and an open conversation about collaboration, peace, creative practice, and the future. The event is built around a simple idea: meaningful dialogue often happens when people from different backgrounds gather around the same table.

Throughout the evening, participants are invited to explore questions about cooperation, creativity, and social transformation. What becomes possible when disciplines stop competing and start collaborating? How can creative processes help us imagine new ways forward? And what role can dialogue play in building more peaceful and connected communities?

The conversation is enriched by contributions from three ODDference speakers whose work spans technology, art, science, policy, and cultural transformation. Together, they bring diverse perspectives on how collaboration can generate new ideas and approaches to contemporary challenges.

A shared meal forms the heart of the gathering. The menu focuses on seasonal vegetables, with vegan and gluten-free options available, creating a welcoming environment for conversation and connection.

Following along

The best way to experience the event is to join the table with curiosity and openness. Participants are encouraged to contribute their thoughts, listen to others, and engage in meaningful conversation throughout the evening.

The speakers

Galit Ariel explores the imaginative and cultural implications of emerging technologies. Anastasia Lemberg-Lvova works at the intersection of contemporary art, policy, and social transformation, advocating for cross-disciplinary collaboration. Jukka-Pekka Heikkilä bridges science and practice through participatory projects and collaborations with institutions including CERN, Aalto University, Oxford, and Burning Man.

Food and conversation

The shared dinner creates a space where ideas can be exchanged informally and organically. By combining food, dialogue, and diverse perspectives, Collision Table seeks to foster meaningful encounters and new ways of thinking together.

Collaboration

Collision Table is organised in collaboration with Now for Peace as part of ODDfest Creative Week 2026, a city-wide programme celebrating creativity, connection, and interdisciplinary exchange across Helsinki.
