Pisamalahti Hill Fort
The Pisamalahti Hillfort in Sulkava is one of the most impressive ancient hillforts in Finland. Narrow steps lead to the top of the hill, where magnificent views open over Lake Saimaa. While taking in the scenery, you can sense the thousand-year history of the site.
The view is also worth admiring from the foot of the cliff, as the nearly vertical rock face rises about 55 meters above the water, creating a striking sight. The shoreline is scattered with massive glacial boulders. The area features a guest harbor, a grill site, and a toilet. The hillfort is located about 5 kilometers from Sulkava Church in the direction of Partalansaari Island.
