Tavastia
Note, requires ODDfest ticket
Tavastia is Finnish music history in a building. Since 1970, it has been the venue where generations of artists played their most important shows — and where audiences discovered what they had been missing. The room is uncompromising: standing floor, balcony, and an atmosphere that belongs to no single genre. At ODDfest, it holds gaming by day and everything from hip-hop legends to Chilean psychedelic rock by night.
Program:
Friday: ODDgames takes over the venue by day — gaming showcases, Ari Pulkkinen (composer of the Angry Birds theme), vibe coding workshops, and a Mario Kart tournament Friday; the NextGen AI Hackathon on Saturday.
Friday night: Paleface performs on a rock stage for the first time, backed by Chamber Orchestra Avanti! and four harps — a configuration that has never existed before and won't exist again. Pelkkää Hyvää Experience follows, then NAZVA (UA) — brought to Helsinki by Solovey and Cultural Forces of Ukraine. Muovipussi close the night before DOMINGA (Föllakzoid, CL) takes the DJ booth.
Saturday: Joona Kotilainen's stand-up comedy show with a robot co-star, Yemi (SE), Gone Future (SE), MISHA, Stacy Epps + Wildchild + Believe (US), and Föllakzoid (CL) headlining — psychedelic krautrock from Chile, hypnotic and relentless.
