Boardwalk to Paradise Island

One of the most notable outdoor initiatives in Toholampi is the boardwalk project funded by Leader Pirityiset. The one kilometer long boardwalk leading to Paradise Island is fully accessible and five planks wide.

The route crosses a beautiful marsh area and leads to Kunnankämppä. Kunnankämppä has accommodation for two people, and outside there is a hut, a fireplace, and a picnic table with benches. The area also has two outhouses. In winter, the Wilderness Trail passes by Kunnankämppä.

Drive about 7.5 kilometers from the center of Toholampi toward Kaustinen. From Ullavantie, turn left onto a gravel road called Hongistonnevantie, which has signs to Kunnankämppä. Drive 5.7 kilometers on the gravel road and the trail starts on the left side of the road.
