Heinäpää Sports Center
Heinäpää Sports Centre is a vibrant hub of athletics in Oulu, located in the Heinäpää district just 1.4 kilometres southwest of the city centre. Its extensive playing fields form the largest football area in Northern Finland, hosting annual highlights such as the Puulaaki Finnish Championships and the Oulu Cup for junior players. The modern Heinäpää Ball Sports Hall (2007) and the historic Oulu Bowling Hall (1957) add to the area’s rich sporting tradition, offering everything from bowling to billiards and minigolf.
A brand‑new football stadium is now rising in Heinäpää, set for completion in late summer 2026. The home of AC Oulu, this UEFA Category 3 arena will feature 5,000 covered seats, including 500 premium VIP seats. The new stadium will bring women’s and youth international matches to Oulu, as well as top‑tier Veikkausliiga action — making Heinäpää one of Finland’s most exciting football destinations.
