What: A discussion-based gathering for writers called One Evening Writer Phoenix Collective. An opportunity to renew and give new life to unfinished literary works.

When: Wednesday 10 June 2026, 6.00–7.00 pm.

Where: Oodi Library, 3rd floor, Saarikoski carpet area.

Who: Anyone interested in writing. Participants are welcome to bring unfinished books, poems, manuscripts, or other literary works and, if they wish, share a glimpse of their work with the group.

Language: English

How: Come to the meeting place at Oodi and join the discussion. No registration is required. Participation is open to everyone.

Ticket price: Free admission.

Description

The phoenix is a legendary immortal bird that symbolizes renewal and rebirth. According to the legend, it lives for 500 years before consuming itself in flames and rising rejuvenated from its ashes.

One Evening Writer Phoenix Collective draws inspiration from this symbol of renewal. The collective invites writers to revisit unfinished books, poems, manuscripts, and other literary works that have been left waiting for completion. For one evening only, participants gather to discuss writing, unfinished projects, and the creative process before the collective disappears again into the night.

The event takes place at Oodi Library on Wednesday evening as part of ODDfest Creative Week 2026.

The best way to participate is simply to join the discussion. Participants are welcome to listen, share their experiences, or present a small glimpse of an unfinished literary work if they wish.

Oodi Library

Located in the heart of Helsinki, Oodi provides an open and welcoming setting for creative encounters. The meeting takes place on the library's third floor in the Saarikoski carpet area.

Literary renewal
