Akionlahti Birdwatching Tower

Akionlahti is a shallow and eutrophic lake with an abundant population of waterfowl and waders. You can see species like shelduck, gadwall, sedge warbler and swans. The best time to visit area is May-June and September-October. Drive 6.4 km towards Hailuoto (816) from Oulunsalo and turn right to Varjakka. After a 2.1 km drive take a smaller path to the left and you’ll arrive at Akionsaari. You can park your car here and continue to the tower on foot via the pathway.
