Pajamäki Heritage Center
MuseumPajamäki is a nineteenth century parish house built in the traditional rural style of Toholampi. It has been restored using traditional colors and materials. The house includes a spacious main room, two back chambers and, upstairs, four renovated summer rooms along with an exhibition loft. A modern kitchen and sanitary facilities make the building suitable for many types of use.
Pajamäki is located in the village of Kotila in the cultural landscape of the Lestijoki valley. It displays old farmhouse items, emigration heritage, wartime materials and works by the Laitala decorative painters. The yard includes a smoke sauna, a smithy, a windmill and a threshing barn, among other structures.
Pajamäki serves as a living heritage center and a venue for meetings, celebrations and concerts. It is open in summer and at other times by arrangement. Entrance fee is 2 €.
