Hertonäs gårds karaktärsbyggnad
ManorHertonäs Manor has had many illustrious owners, such as Abraham Wetter, a burgomaster of Helsinki, the merchant Johan Sederholm, and the officer Augustin Ehrensvärd. Especially vice admiral Carl Olof Cronstedt and the last owner of the manor, Johan Bergbom, have left their mark in the history of the manor. The customs officer Petter Wetter founded Hertonäs Manor in the beginning of the 18th century by combining several medieval manors in the Herttoniemi area. His son Abraham Wetter then inherited the manor. Abraham was named the burgomaster of Helsinki after the Great Wrath, and he relocated the main house and related buildings of the manor to the current museum area. The wooden main house as it stood in the 18th century was closer to Laajasalo, close to the current Swedish-speaking primary school. The old main house was donated for use as a school in 1882 and torn down in 1898.
