Leila Lipiäinen - Feather Flower, Scoop Flower and Cup Flower

Leila Lipiäinen (b. 1962, Asikkala) lives and works in Rovaniemi. She teaches graphic arts techniques at the Faculty of Arts, University of Lapland and is a master of carborundum and lithography techniques. Lipiäinen also works with installations and sculptures made from everyday objects. Ordinary, discarded, and flea-market finds are combined with natural materials to create unexpected forms. Her assemblages evoke memories through their delicate materiality – they are like poetry of everyday life.
