Pekka Jylhä - Pantsarent

Sculpture

Sculptor Pekka Jylhä (b. 1955 Toholampi) is known for his experimental use of a wide range of materials. In his works, he has employed water, light, concrete, glass, steel, and taxidermy animals. The animals are sourced from natural history museums, ensuring that they have not been sacrificed for art. Combining organic and unnatural, artificial materials is characteristic of Jylhä’s practice, and his works often feature reflective, mirror-like surfaces. This creates contrasts within the work that engage in dialogue with each other.
