The fitness stairs were completed in spring 2020. They are located on the exercise track opposite the Lampinhalli building (Kuusistontie 4). You can reach them by passing the ski hut behind the sports fields and walking up the first hill on its south side.

The stairs offer a safe training environment for everyone and are open to all without any booking. Groups should keep other users in mind.

A handrail on one side provides support for those who need it. You can use the stairs side by side or alone. During busy times, it is possible to return down along the exercise track.

When stepping on the stairs, aim to place your foot heel first and use the whole foot. This gives you a stable step and avoids straining the knees. The stairs are in the lit section of the track, which makes autumn training possible. There is no winter maintenance. There are 81 steps with an elevation gain of 80 meters, and the step height is 10 centimeters.

Stair training offers several benefits for wellbeing. The most important effects include improved endurance, stronger lower body muscles, and enhanced breathing and circulation. The stairs also improve agility, coordination, takeoff power, and explosiveness depending on the type of workout. They also provide good bone strengthening exercise.
