Hi pals, I'm Bore, and I'm here to tell you about the super exciting summer of 1952. My big sisters, Brynhild and Aallotar, will share more incredible stories along the way. Do you know what happened here in the city back then? Well, the Helsinki Olympics of course. A whole lot of athletes and other folks from all over the world were arriving here.

The city decision makers decided to give us young lads a cool chance to meet those athletes. So I just had to join in. All you were required to do was put on some neat rags, or rather clean clothes, and work as a stooge between the athletes' village and the venues. The reward was getting autographs from all the contestants.

At first, it was super cool to be an errand boy, doing my job as I was supposed to, but then I started loitering around and watching the athletes. I'm sure I have everyone's autographs in my notebook by now.

When the buildings for the first games were designed, the city leaders had the foresight to make them durable and lasting for later use. The building work was halted by World War II. But right after the war, the construction continued, and we dreamt of new games, which came true in 1952, the Helsinki Olympics. Thanks to that, we have great places for sports and other public events in prime locations.

Now, let's ride together on scooters or bikes for an unforgettable journey around the city's best sports venues. Venues that are still in use today, not just relics of history, even if they are old. Over there, you can already see the first stop of the tour, the Palace Building.
