Ville Löppönen - Girl
Painting*This artwork has been selected for the exhibition by the young participants of the Rovaniemi Art Museum’s ArtHop project*
Ville Löppönen (b. 1980, Savonlinna) works in an abstract and expressive style in which light and transformations of form play a central role. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2007 and also completed a Master’s degree in Orthodox Theology in 2018. Löppönen’s work often explores spiritual and existential themes, drawing on perspectives from art history, iconography, as well as the everyday life and societal changes of the contemporary world. He is particularly interested in the creative power of light and in how it transforms both what exists and our perception of it.
