Eliina Hurtig - When the White Birds Return

Being human is what unites us all. The journey to oneself can also be a journey toward one another. When the White Birds Return was created in the spring of 2022, when the world was shaken as Russia attacked Ukraine. In her painting, Eliina Hurtig (b. 1979) reflects on how to maintain hope and faith in goodness when evil and cruelty come close. How to believe that light will ultimately overcome darkness and good will prevail over evil - that the white birds will finally return.
